It can seem impossible to change your mindset.  Learn how to change your mindset to help you feel better and become motivated to do more.Change Your Mindset

Life can seem impossible.  There are so many demands on our plate that we can tend to have a negative mindset.  In this post, I’m going to share 3 simple tips to help you change your mindset.  I hope that this post will help transform your mindset to allow you to become happier and become motivated to do more.

When you are down in the dumps it’s hard to get up and complete your household chores and see the light at the end of the tunnel.  It can seem like you’ll never get out of the negative mindset however, there are a few things you can do to help change your mindset.

Before I begin, changing your mindset takes practice.  I want you to be as successful as possible.  Download the free Changing Your Mindset cheat sheet to help you out.

Change your mindset tip #1 Positive dialog

This isn’t a new age type of mumbo-jumbo.  Your positive affirmations are a way of internally picking yourself up.  When your internal dialog is negative get up and look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself the truth (or the opposite of what your internal dialog is saying).  Your mind is a powerful tool.  If you are thinking doom and gloom, your result will be doom and gloom.  So, let’s break that cycle.

For example, if your internal dialog is telling you that “you’re lazy”, stand up straight and look at yourself in the mirror and say “I’m energetic and getting a lot done today”.  Make sure you are using a confident and powerful voice.

Going to the mirror slouched over and telling yourself, in a depressed voice, the opposite of how you are feeling isn’t the only thing you have to do.  You need to convince yourself that you are the opposite of how you are feeling.

I’m a huge believer of getting that blood pumping when you are feeling completely unmotivated to do anything.  Exercise is going to give you endorphin, remove you from your current situation, and completely get your mind off of whatever is holding you back.

Here are a few examples of exercise you can do to change your mindset:

  • go for a walk
  • go for a jog
  • do a 10-20 minute HIIT workout
  • yoga

Those are just a few examples of what you could do to get your blood pumping (learn how to find time for exercise).  I recommend taking 10-20 minutes to really allow this to take effect.  Going for a walk or run will remove you from the situation completely.  Getting outside and into the fresh air can completely change your mindset.

Doing a HIIT workout or a yoga workout will allow you to get your mind off of your unmotivated feeling and allow you to focus on the task at hand.

By completing some form of exercise, your mind will thank you in the end.

Change your mindset tip #3 Do something that makes you happy

If you’re walking around with a dark cloud over your head, why not try to cheer yourself up by doing something that makes you happy?  Changing your mindset is all about redirecting your mind into a positive area.

Here’s my suggestion to you, create a list of 3-5 things that are quick and simple things that make you happy.  When you are having one of those dark cloudy days, pull out your list of items are trying one out.

You’d be surprised how quickly you can turn yourself around in no time.

Like I said at the beginning of this article, changing your mindset takes practice.  I’ve created a free worksheet to help you create a plan of attack to change your mindset.  You can download that below.

Getting up moving around, changing what you hear in your internal dialog, and doing something that makes you happy can do a lot to change your mindset.  By following any of the mindset tips I shared with you today you’ll have a better chance of changing your mindset to allow you to become happier and get more done.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed this post.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have an amazing day.
