Since I have the biggest sweet tooth cookies are one of my favorite sweet treats to enjoy. Butter crunch cookies, peanut butter cookies, and of course these double chocolate chip cookies. This recipe of double chocolate chip cookies is a variation from my chocolate chip cookie recipe.
These are buttery, soft, chewy, and oh so decadent! Since these are double chocolatey they go perfectly with a cup of coffee, hot tea, or even a good ol’ glass of milk.

To make these double chocolate chip cookies you’ll need common cookie ingredients. Here’s the list of ingredients:
- Sugar and brown sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Baking powder and baking soda
- Cocoa powder
- All purpose flour
- Chocolate chips
How to make double chocolate chip cookies
To make these cookies you’ll follow the same steps as you would with most cookie recipes. For the full details check out the printable recipe card below.
- Cream together the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the sugars have disolved.
- In a different bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder. Stir to combine the dry ingredients.
- Slowly add in the dry ingredients to the butter sugar mixture. Stir to combine.
- Add the walnuts and chocolate chips to the cookie dough. Using a spatula, fold them in until well incoprated.
- Portion our an amount of cookie dough on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
How to store the cookies
To store the cookies you’ll need an air-tight container. They’ll stay fresh in the container for up to 7 days.

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Soft and chewy this recipe for Double Chocolate Chip Cookies is made with semi-sweet chocolate chips and cocoa powder. The result is amazingly decadent chocolate cookies that go perfectly with a cup of coffee, tea, or even milk!
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a mixing bowl combine the butter and both sugars together until well combined.
Add in the vanilla extract and eggs. Mix until well combined.
In another bowl combine the baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and all-purpose flour. Stir until well combined.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture.
Once the cookie dough is well combined slowly fold in the walnuts and the chocolate chips.
On a parchment-lined baking sheet. Using a cookie scoop, scoop out cookie dough and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
