All of you love fall, don’t you? It is the best time of the year; the air finally gets cooler. Now, you need to get ready to clean the mess summer brings. Make your home ready for winter.
It’s fall clean up time
Here’s the deal, if you don’t have a schedule or checklist for cleaning, you won’t ever do it. Take a look around the house and check what needs to be cleaned. If you do it now, there will be less to do when vacation arrives.
I have made it easy for you by creating a fall cleaning checklist that you can download that print out below.

Wash Your Walls and Windows
For your fall cleaning, you’ll want to use a glass cleaner or something that smells nice in a spray bottle filled with water. And wipe it away with a microfiber cloth. If you are doing it on a cloudy day then you will able to see any streaks. Dust, wash, rinse your walls and dry your painted or wood-paneled walls.
Fall cleaning tip vacuum dusty canvas, cotton, and treated fabric blinds
Vacuuming will always remain a daunting task for each and every house maker. During summer, preferably windows are always kept open to ensure better air circulation. Meanwhile, the window sills and blinds collect dirt and dust particles on them. So, vacuum the window sills and blinds with the help of a dusting brush. Don’t skip to vacuum between and under the couch cushions, also the mattresses and pillows. Remember to vacuum your carpet or doormats.
Scrub the Floors during your fall clean up
Dirt, dust, bacteria, and allergens are mostly found on the floor. During summer, it is even worse because of vacation with guests. During your fall cleaning, you’ll need to do deep cleaning like scrubbing, brushing and drying them. You can use your vacuum to clean it in the shortest span and in an effective way. Focus mainly on the corners, edges, crevices and all the areas like the hard-to-reach spots.
Nobody can have fun in a dirty environment. You should be very careful about cleaning the patio as you are going to spend plenty of time there and not indoor. For your aesthetics, clean the siding and driveway as well. If you have a lawn, you can use a leaf blower to get rid of the leaves or any kind of dirt.
Seal your Flooring
This is the best time to prepare before winter arrives. Recheck your floor and ceiling if they are ready for the harsh weather, such as increased moisture levels. To make your wooden decking, bathroom tiles, hardwood flooring and laminate floor tiles stronger and more durable, you need to seal them.
Don’t take the fall clean up all on Yourself
The best is to take kids to assist you. It will make them feel they are contributing something to the family. Also, they will learn the skills which will help them when they are adults.
There is something that you need to do in regular interval i.e., vacuuming because the chance of dust and dirt getting in the house rises. As the weather in this period is perfect for outdoor activities, consider doing all repairs needed outdoor.
