The Best Homemade Cleaning Products to Make
The best part of all is these homemade cleaning products are they’re affordable to make and cost a fraction of what you would pay in stores. They will get your home nice and clean and are not full of harsh chemicals. It a win-win situation all around.
Homemade Bathroom Cleaning Product
Bathroom cleaners are so nice to have on hand. Let me share some great options to tackle the mess quickly and easily. Let me share some of my favorites with you to try out!
Toilet Cleaner & Drains
Sprinkle in 1 cup of baking soda into your toilet, followed by 1 cup vinegar. It will bubble like crazy but go slow. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then scrub clean.
For drains, just do baking soda first, followed by vinegar. Let sit five minutes then flush with hot water for 2-3 minutes.
Shower & Bath Cleaner
Mix equal parts of white vinegar and Blue Dawn Dish soap together. Shake and spray from a bottle or pour onto the hard stained areas. Let it sit for ten minutes and then use a stiff brush to wash away the mess. Repeat as needed to get rid of all the stains and water build up. Rinse clean.
Scour Cleaner
This is good for grout or other tough spots that need some elbow grease. You want to create a paste from baking soda and Blue Dawn Dish soap. Once you get it a thick paste apply to the problem area, and then spritz vinegar over the top. It will bubble, but it will help break down the area. Let it work over for a few minutes then wash clean with warm water, or scrub to work out the dirt and grime.
Homemade All Purpose Cleaning Products
Mopping Floors
Mix 1 cup vinegar to a gallon of water, to mop hardwood or linoleum floors. You can even add in a few drops of your favorite essential oil. We like to use lemon or orange in our home.
Carpet Refresher
Take two cups baking soda and add in 15-20 drops of essential oil. You can use lemon, peppermint, lavender, or any other ones you like. Give it a good shake then sprinkle lightly on the carpet. Let it sit 20 minutes then vacuum up for a deodorized carpet!
All Purpose Cleaner
Tackle all areas of your home with this homemade all-purpose cleaning product. Pour equal parts of water and white distilled vinegar into a spray bottle. Then add 10-15 drops of tea tree oil or lemon and give a good shake. Lemon and tea tree both offer antibacterial properties to help fight bacteria lingering. Spray and wipe away.
Kitchen Cleaners
Homemade Disinfectant Wipes
In a bowl add a cup of water, 10 drops of eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, and lemon essential oil, followed by 1/3 cup vinegar. Mix it around well, and then pour over paper towels, or cut up fabric that you can wash after you use. Soak the towels in the liquid for homemade wipes!
