Stay on Top of Everything
When you make a fresh start to your home it is very important to stay on top of all the little jobs as they can soon pile up and get out of control. Whether it’s washing the dishes, doing laundry, or tackling the living room with a duster, you need to be sticking to a cleaning routine on a regular basis if you can.
There is no use putting off those jobs that you hate doing; you will have to do them at some point. Breaking up your duties into smaller and more manageable tasks will help you to stay on top of everything and keep a clean home through and through.
Make a Schedule
Creating a cleaning schedule that works isn’t as difficult as you might imagine; you need help staying on top of your daily jobs, so this will help you to keep track of what needs to be done. Perhaps you have kids in the house who should be getting involved in the household chores.
Create a chore chart or cleaning schedule that indicates exactly what everybody’s duties are each day. Even if they are small tasks such as making the bed, feeding the dog, or sweeping the floor, every little thing will help you to stay organized and on top of your fresh and clean home.
Laundry Made Easy
When you have a huge pile of laundry to tackle there is nothing more overwhelming and stressful. You should aim to do a little bit of laundry at least every other day to avoid the dreaded pile up in the basket.
This will give you time to fold and put away all of the clean items before the next load needs to go in. Having a couple of baskets to transport clean and dirty laundry to and from the washer will always come in handy too.
Assess Your Cleaning Products
When you embark on a big cleaning spree, you need to make sure the cleaning products you are using are completely safe and non-toxic. It can be tempting to use products that are as strong as possible in order to achieve maximum results, but there are consequences to this.
You don’t want to breathe in harmful chemicals whilst cleaning, so why not make your own cleaning products? Use all-natural ingredients from your pantry such as white wine vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda. I have a few wonderful recipes to make your own:
Changing up your storage solutions will make your home feel fresh and tidier quickly. Perhaps you have a lot of clutter lying around on your shelves and you need a way to hide the mess from public viewing.
You can buy boxes to fit the sizes of your shelves so that all your items fit tidily away without causing a mess in the house.
Decluttering is Important
Before you start investing in a ton of new storage solutions, you might want to have a good old clear out. Decluttering is not only going to make your home feel cleaner, but it is also a therapeutic process. Getting rid of old junk you no longer need will help you to feel clearer in your mind as well as your house. This will allow you to start from scratch and really transform your home into a fresher and cleaner environment.
Now it’s time to focus on the various rooms within your home. If you can transform each key room into something more special and comforting you will have achieved your end goal. In your bedroom try and adapt the accessories and décor to make everything feel much more relaxing. Whether you use scented candles to create an ambiance or invest in new soft silk sheets to make your bed more comfortable, there are many ways that you can create bliss in your bedroom.
If you have little ones in the family, then sprucing up their playroom might be a good idea. Toys can easily become lost or broken if they aren’t stored correctly and neatly at home. Invest in some solid wooden toy boxes that are large enough to fit several toys in at the same time. Teach your child the importance of cleaning up after themselves and you will soon find it a breeze to keep the playroom perfectly tidy.
Living Room Luxury
Your living room should feel like a comforting place for the entire family, so make it special for each individual. Perhaps your partner likes a particular chair, or your little one has a special blanket.
If you can bring in an element for everybody that makes them feel safe and relaxed you will have mastered the art of sprucing up your home.
Your bathroom should feel clean, pristine and relaxing for you; it’s a place you can pamper yourself and relax in the bathtub after a long hard day. Use neutral tones that make you feel completely at peace and indulge in fluffy bath towels that make you feel warm and snug.
You should also think about the practical elements of the bathroom too, as you might need to keep certain products out of reach from the little ones; similarly, you might want to invest in some bath toys to keep them happy whilst they enjoy their evening soak in the tub.
Organizing your kitchen can be extremely useful and aesthetically pleasing once it’s all complete. Empty out all of your kitchen cupboards and throw away any old tins and spices that have gone out of date.
You will be surprised at how much space you can clear in your kitchen with just a little bit of time and effort. Once you have cleansed your cupboards you can start to spruce up your décor a little bit. Add some cute accessories, invest in new furniture, or rearrange your electrical appliances for a completely new look.
Whether you want to make your garden more eco-friendly or create a more kid-friendly space, you can do a lot to change up the vibe of your outdoor space. Start an herb garden or invest in more outdoor toys for the little ones; you could even plant a new flower bed with seasonal blooms.
When you transform the look and feel of your garden, you will feel much more inclined to make good use out of it when the weather is nice.
So spruce up your home and make some innovative changes; you will quickly feel more relaxed and comfortable in the amazing atmosphere you have created.
