Fake a clean house following these steps
Step 1: Make Your Home Smell Good
A home that smells good seems cleaner. You can use air fresheners, light candles, turn on a wax warmer, sprinkle scented baking soda on the carpet and vacuum it up, etc. Do whatever you can to make your home smell fresh. Even opening the windows can make a big difference.
Step 2: Tackle Clutter
First things first. If you have clutter all over the place, grab a basket and start clearing. If you want to make your house to look clean all the time, invest in a cube organizer, cube storage bins, baskets, and furniture with built-in storage. You can keep all those miscellaneous piles of stuff (remotes, toys, etc.) hidden away.
Step 3: Banish Dust and Dog Hair
A quick dusting and vacuuming can make a huge difference. If your furniture is free of pet hair, your house will instantly look cleaner. The same goes for dusting. Even a home that is otherwise immaculate can look dirty if someone sees dust.
Step 4: Focus on the Most Used Rooms
Focus your time and energy on getting the rooms that your guests will be in clean. The entryway, living room, guest bathroom, kitchen, etc. Don’t worry about the rooms your guests shouldn’t be going into. You can close those rooms off.
Step 5: Stash the Dishes
If you have dirty dishes, stash them in the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is full, stash them inside the oven. This is much better than having a sink full of dishes.
Step 6: Let the Light In
Pull back the curtains and let in some natural light. Natural lighting can make a home appear fresher and cleaner than it really is.
Step 7: Turn Your Blinds Up
No time to dust those dusty blinds? Turn the blinds in the other direction so that the dusty side is pointing down.
Step 8: Take Out the Trash
Last, but not least, take out the trash. Empty trash cans will definitely make a house look cleaner than it is.
You never have to panic when guests are coming over unexpectedly. You can quickly get your home into shape so that your house look cleaner than it is.
