Putting what you learn into action is key to helping with productivity. I created a free to-do list printable to help you manage your time wisely. You can download it below.
I want to share 4 simple tips with you to help you become more productive.
Productivity Tip #1 Your To-Do List
I talk a lot about to-do lists on the blog and that’s because it’s the one thing that has helped me manage my time more wisely.
Sit down the night before and create a well-thought-out to-do list that will give you direction for the entire day.
Things to include on your to-do list are:
- 8 tasks you need/want to complete
- Household cleaning chores
- Errands that need to be run
One thing to remember about your to-do list is to make sure that the tasks that you add to your to-do list are as specific as possible.
Productivity Tip #2 Take breaks
If you want to complete your to-do list or need your day to be insanely productive, it’s key to make sure that you’re giving yourself breaks.
Your mind and body need to rest. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or tired-walk away from what you are doing and take a small break. You’ll be surprised by how productive you’ll be when you come back.
Typically taking 10-15 minute breaks is the perfect amount of time for you to feel refreshed and ready to complete the task(s) that you’re working on.
Productivity Tip #3 Cut out distractions
If your phone is constantly going off then it can be hard to focus and concentrate on what you’re doing.
A few things you can do are:
- Set your phone to do not disturb
- Leave your phone in the other room
- Close extra tabs and windows on your computer
- Work/clean while the kids are away or napping
By removing distractions you’ll be able to get more done and have a clearer head when you are working at the task at hand.
Productivity Tip #4 Use routines
I love routines. It might be part of my type A personality but I feel like when I follow my routines I’ll get more done and I don’t feel lost.
Starting your day with a morning routine will help you get a few things done before the family starts with their demands.
Using a cleaning routine will help you with knowing where to start and what needs to be cleaned when.
Ending the day with an evening routine will allow you to finish your day on a productive note.
