Happy Friday! It is almost the weekend, I can almost smell it! Speaking of smelling how about filling your home with the AWESOME scent of pizza? I’m a huge fan of pizza. I don’t eat it all that often because of the cheese so I made my favorite pizza into a flat bread. My husband call them open faced sandwiches since there is no cheese, because pizza is not pizza without the cheese. So I’m calling it flatbread, LOL
It is filling and only takes 18 minutes to make start to finish. This meal couldn’t be easier to make. With only 7 ingredients you can throw this together in no time at all! If you cannot live without the cheese by all means, add some cheese.
I’m totally in love with Trader Joe’s whole wheat pizza crust. I flattened the dough and shaped it into a rectangle and placed it on a cookie sheet. Drizzled a small amount of grape seed oil over. Cut some cherry tomatoes in half and placed them on top. Before putting it in the oven I added some fresh cracked pepper on top. Placed in the oven at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
While the pizza, I mean flatbread, was cooking I julienned some fresh basil. I also prepared a nice fresh salad to go along with this.
Once the flatbread was finished cooking I add the fresh basil and drizzled some balsamic glaze over the top. Slice and enjoy!
