When you’re moving into a new home, everything is a little bit chaotic, you don’t always know exactly where you’re going to put things when you move in since we get a short amount of time to actually look at the property beforehand. This doesn’t stop us visualizing what we would like our homes to be like once we’ve moved in. So we like to plan ahead and think about everything that we need to get done. But what are some of the tips that you may not have heard of before that will give you space and a new home that you can love?
Before you actually move consider what items of furniture will fit in which rooms in the new house, do you have a theme in mind? And if so does your current furniture fit that. It’s important to make sure that everything fits as when you move you don’t want to be having to rearrange everything. Moving house can be stressful, so try and make it easier for yourself if possible. If you have children as well, it’s really important to make sure that they have their spaces and that they are involved in the actual process too. In addition to that, it’s a good idea when you’re packing to ensure that everything is labeled effectively, you really don’t want your toilet items ending up in the kitchen by mistake.
Find your rooms
As soon as possible after moving house it’s a good idea to find the rooms as you are going to use them, don’t worry too much about putting everything away, just make sure you have space in your kitchen to make cups of tea, and you have clear beds and wardrobes to put things away. It’s important to do this so that you can still retain A certain amount of normality as you go. If you don’t it can make the whole process a bit more stressful and nobody wants that.
This is another one to be done before you actually move, you don’t want to be paying to move items that you aren’t going to be keeping. If you find that you have things in a garage that have been there for six months or more do your best to throw them away. But it makes everything much more difficult and it’s important to make sure you have a clear space. This is especially true if you are downsizing in any way. It will help you feel much calmer, how much more organized if you follow this route.
Some people are naturally organised, and some people just aren’t. But even if you want the most organized person in the world naturally it’s a good idea to do your best to organize all your items before you pack up and move. Having a place rabbiting and everything in its place is amazing for your mental health too. Everyone likes to feel as though they have some sort of control, and having an organized home goes a long way towards this.
