It's the beginning of January and all I want to do is clean.  I want to clean so much that it's starting to get a little overwhelming.  I needed to come up with a plan, so that's what this is.  This is my plan for January.

In this post, I'm going to be sharing what I'm cleaning when to make my home sparkling clean.  I'd love it if you'd follow along.

Instead of cleaning everything at once I've broken it down into daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning so I'm not spending day and night cleaning.  This also helps my home stay clean.  I've also created a blueprint for you to follow that you can download and use.  It's free and all you have to do is click the button below!

Getting the house clean can feel like an uphill battle.  If you have big dreams for what you want your house to look like you might get overwhelmed before you're able to see a transformation.

That's why I think it's important to create a plan that won't take too much time and won't feel like the only thing you're doing is cleaning and cleaning up after people also known as the housemaid...

So let's get to how I've created my plan.

The first thing I needed to do is figure out what needed to be cleaned.  Let me tell you, that was an overwhelming job.  When I completed my list I felt like the only thing I'd be doing from now until eternity was cleaning.

That's where the separating came into play.  I split up the jobs into daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, twice a year, and yearly.  Since this is January I'm only doing what needs to be done in January to keep up.

The moment I start looking at things that need to be done in July is when I start feeling overwhelmed.  Or I start bouncing from job to job.  It's not good so that's why I'm only focusing on what needs to be cleaned in January.

So for the sake of the Blueprint, I've separated it into 4 sections:

  • Daily cleaning
  • Weekly cleaning
  • Monthly cleaning
  • January cleaning

Now let's talk about what's included in each section.

The daily chores

These are chores that need to be done daily to keep up.  Things like, making the bed and doing the dishes are things that need to be done each day to make your home look clean without having to do too much.

The weekly chores

These are chores that need to be done weekly to keep up.  Things like mopping, dusting, and scrubbing toilets only need to be cleaned once a week to keep up.

The monthly chores

These are chores that only need to be done once a month to keep up.  Things like dusting light fixtures and cleaning vents only need to be done once a month.

The January chores

Since there were things on my list that needed to be cleaned quarterly, twice a year, and yearly I thought it'd be good to separate those chores and assign them to a month.  This way I'm not feeling like I'm always cleaning.

Things like, vacuuming out the pantry or replacing the HVAC filter only need to be done every so often but they are also things that people forget to do so putting them on the list you are keeping your home clean and maintaining your home without too much extra effort.

In conclusion

Once I sat down and mapped out my plan I felt like this was something I was able to accomplish.  My hopes for writing this post I'm able to help you with the cleaning process so you can enjoy a clean home.
