How to make your house smell good
There are many ways to make your house smell good. I’m going to go over many different ways. You’ll find ways to make your home smell like for or Christmas. I’ve put together a free checklist with recipes so you can make your home smell fresh.

Light a candle or two
On those wet, gross, don’t want to get out of bed kind of days I like to light a candle or two so I can remove the stale closed up smell and feeling that comes along with it.
These are my favorite candles to use. The great thing is you have a drinking cup to use after you enjoy the candles!
How to make your house smell good without candles
There are so many ways to make your house smell good without candles. The following suggestions all will make your home smell good without candles.
Bake
There’s not a better smell than freshly baked bread, cookies, or muffins. This smell really makes your home smell homey. The great news is, once you finish baking you’ve got a tasty treat for you and your family to enjoy!
If you aren’t a baker, not to worry. There are lots of done for you options like cookie dough at the grocery store.
Make your house smell good naturally
Open the shades and open a window or two a crack you’ll be able to quickly cycle through the air in your home. Doing this will help your house smell much better naturally.
Try doing this at least once a week. Shut off the heater, set a timer for 15 minutes. Then, open up all of the windows and allow the air to cycle through.
Once the 15 minutes are up, shut the window, keep the blinds open, and turn the heat back on. This is the most effective way to make your home smell nice.
How to make your house smell good with vanilla extract
Vanilla extract smells amazing. Did you know that you can make your house smell like it too! Don’t waste your expensive vanilla extract.
Add 1 tsp of imitation vanilla extract and a cup of water. Warming this mixture will give increase the potency. To warm this mixture add the water and vanilla extract to a mason jar and place the mason jar on a candle warmer.
This will last about an hour on the warmer.
Add essential oils to the filters
About once a month I will drop some essential oils to our HVAC filter to help our home smell better. I will switch up the combos I use. For the winter time I use a lot of cinnamon, the spring I like to use floral scent combos and so on.

Every time the heat or AC comes on the air passes through that filter giving a pleasant scent to fill your home without having to do much.
Make Your House Smell Good with Fresh flowers
I love the spring and summer time. I’ll go out to my garden and clip flowers from my yard. I’ve always got fresh lavender, roses, and calla lilies in vases throughout the house.
Having bouquets throughout the house really makes a huge difference in the way our home smells.
Wipe down counters and do the dishes
Nothing freshens up the home more than doing a little cleaning. Wiping down counters and doing the dishes makes a huge impact.
Making sure that the sink is clear and clean and the counters are clutter free and wiped down will make you feel so good every time you walk into the kitchen (well at least it makes me feel good!).
How to make your house smell like a spa
The best and easiest way to make your home smell like a spa is with a reed diffuser. With a combination of essential oils you can change up the way your home smells.

If you feel like your home is a little stale and you need a quick freshening up there are a few things you can do that will quickly refresh up the smell of your home. Lighting a candle, opening some windows, baking a yummy treat, using essential oils, or even doing a little cleaning will make you and your home feel refreshed.
