It’s Friday! The home stretch to the weekend. I’m really looking forward to a much deserved relaxing weekend with my family. Today I’ve got your Friday night dinner planned out for you. So you will be able to spend a nice evening with your family This simple meal will be on the table in under 20 minutes, saving you time and money.
You’ll be gaining extra time being able to catch up on other things. In just a few steps this will be on the table and your family will be devouring it. You can pat yourself on the back because you will be serving a healthy and hearty meal to your family.
Normally I would have a recipe and shopping list download available for you but, this week there is really no need. What you see is what you get with this dish.
Start off by bringing a pot of water to a boil to get the pasta cooking. Once the water is warming up I start getting the sausage cooked. I used this chicken sausage from Trader Joe’s, it is basil and sun dried tomato flavor. It is precooked so all that needs to be done is get it warmed up.
As a side note, if you’re gluten free then use gluten free pasta. My vegan and vegetarian friends use meat free sausage, which I have to say I love! It would go great in this. If you are dairy and/or soy sensitive make sure your sausage is free of that. This sausage is free of soy and dairy.
Now that the sausage is warmed up I add the broccoli. I also add a little water to the bottom of the pan to help the sausage from sticking and to help steam the broccoli. Don’t forget to utilize your lid, this will definitely come in handy on getting your food to cook quicker.
I add the pre-sliced sun dried tomatoes from Trader Joe’s (of course, what can I say I love me some Trader Joe’s!). Then I allow this all to cook and come together.
Once the pasta is cooked, which is what takes the longest with this meal, drain the pasta and add it to the sausage mixture. Season with salt and pepper your dinner is ready to be served.
I love pepper so I added more on top. You could add parmesan cheese on top. There it is a quick, simple, and quite healthy 20 minute meal. Is this something you’d try? I would love to hear! Thank you so much for stopping by!
